INUTES
City Council
May 28, 19.36
Thunder Bay
2nd Addition
(Cont.)
The Engineer reported that the street would have a 30 foot mat.
Valento was proposing to narrow the right -of -way down to 40 feet
•for the area of road between his hone and Mr. Wright's. Valento
pointed out that the Wright horse is only 4 feet from the property
line and, thus, the roadway would be about 14 feet from the home
and the right -of -way would be about 4 feet from the home. Valento
stated that he would have between 14 and 18 feet between his home
and the road right -of -way.
Mr. Wright stated that he was totally against the proposal as is,
and would prefer to see a cul -de -sac on the southern end. Wright
also stated that he has some property involved in the plat and he
was not consulted when the plat was put together. Fright stated
that he did not want to develop his property.
Fahey suggested that a road could be put through to Payne Avenue
in the vicinity of Lot 16.
Mr. Jespersen indicated that most of the lots on Payne Avenue have
been developed and there is no room for a road.
Mr. Valento felt that if the property to the north has a pond
located on it, he did not feel that these properties should be
assessed for any storm sewer improvements.
Mr. Frattalone stated that the proposed pond is part of the City's
drainage plan and he felt that the City should buy the property
for the pond.
Scalze pointed out that the pond will benefit this development.
The Engineer stated that the pond can go in various locations and
the exact site has not been determined.
Scalze felt that other property owners in the City could make the
same argument that 9r. Valento is making with regard to storm sewer
improvements. However, the City as a whole has to share in these
costs.
Mr. Rene Malancon, 685 LaBore Road, indicated that he was not in
favor of developing his property nor in favor of'selling the property
to the City for park land.
Fahey pointed out to Mr. Malancon that this proposed plat could
landlock the back of his property. However, ialancon still wanted
not to he involved in the plat.
Scalze asked if Mr. Stcynske was in favor of selling his property
to the City for a park.
Page 93
