MINUTES
Planning Commission
May 14, 1987
Wright
Lot Split
(Cont.)
It was noted that the property owners were not informed of the proposal.
Timmons was concerned that the Plessel's be notified of Mr. Wright's
proposal and the necessity of 20 feet of right -of -way from their
property. Timmons noted that the Plessel lot will then become a
corner lot. Timmons felt that the matter should be tabled until
the next meeting so that the owners are informed of what is happening.
Wright felt he was being unjustly held up and that this matter is
something the City should have resolved some time ago.
Costa pointed out the existing drain tiles in the area.
Wright stated that the tiles would be tied into the storm sewer system.
Timmons recommended that the Wright property division be tabled until
the next Planning Commission meeting and that the Plessel's be notified
of the Wright proposal by registered mail with a copy to David Wright
as well as the Planning Commission, as well as the Planning Commission
being provided with a diagram as to how the Plessel house will sit in
relation to the proposed road."
Motion seconded by Schweizer.
Motion carried 6 - 0.
Carlson Mr. Ronald P. Carlson appeared before the Commission requesting
Sideyard approval of a sideyard setback variance for his lot located on
Setback Burke Lane. Carlson felt that Nadeau Road would never be extended
Variance through this area.
The City Planner noted that in April of 1986 the City approved the
same variance for Mr. Dukowitz, and the property has now been sold
to Mr. Carlson. The Planner recommended that a standard 10 -foot
sideyard setback be required in this instance.
The Planner also noted that there is a sideyard setback variance
for the home located across the street from Mr. Carlson's lot.
Timmons recommended that a sideyard setback variance requested by
Mr. Ronald P. Carlson for Lot 10, Block 2, Southern Slope Addition
be approved requiring a standard 10 foot sideyard setback on the
property due to the fact that a sideyard setback variance was approved
for Lot 6, Block 1, Southern Slope Addition as well as the fact that
it does not appear that Nadeau Road will be extended in the area,
and also due to the fact that a similar variance was granted to Mr.
Dukowitz for the same property on April 23, 1986.
Motion seconded by Mr. Herkenhoff.
Motion carried 6 - 0
Page 4
