MINUTES <br />Planning Commission <br />August 13, 1987 <br />City Center Timmons asked if there would be any liability to the City in the use <br />Expansion of the building by the public. <br />(Cont.) <br />Herkenhoff asked if there was enough storage room provided. <br />Collova noted that storage would be in the basement. <br />Timmons suggested that the conference room off the Council Chambers open <br />up so that overflow from the Council Chambers could go into this room. <br />Timmons suggested that perhaps the conference room should not be adjacent <br />to the Council table. <br />Collova noted the need to reduce the size of the conference room to provide <br />larger offices for various departments. <br />Timmons again stated that she did not feel the Council Chambers were <br />large enough. Timmons also stated that the City should not wait to see <br />what the School District is going to do, pointing out that no one knows <br />how long that will take. <br />DeLonais suggested that adequate water - proofing of the basement addition <br />be done and proper ventilation provided. <br />DeLonais asked the audience seating capacity in the proposed Council <br />Chambers. <br />Perlinger felt that there was a lot more audience seating capacity in the <br />new proposal. <br />Timmons suggested that some display cases be provided in the new addition. <br />Collova thanked the Commission for their input and suggested that they <br />contact him if they come up with additional ideas. <br />St. John's The Planner explained the proposed rezoning of the property surrounding <br />Credit Union St. John's Credit Union and the thought that since the Credit Union was <br />Area Rezoning rezoning from B -3 to RB to conform with its existing use, the surrounding <br />property should be rezoned as well to conform with property use. <br />Timmons asked if the property owners were in favor of the rezonings. <br />The Planner pointed out that the property owners received notice of the <br />proposed rezoning and were asked to attend tonight's meeting. However, <br />none of the property owners are present. <br />DeLonais asked how the Joe Collova property was accessed. <br />The Planner noted that access is through the City parking lot and this <br />is the reason for rezoning the City property Public to ensure that this <br />access is always in existence. <br />Page 5 <br />
