MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JUNE 14, 2006 The Administrator noted that the City is in the process of contract negotiations with the haulers. He pointed ouC that refuse collection rates have been frozen for the past five years. Given increasing fuel costs, he is anticipating a rate increase for refuse collection. However, a portion of fuel increases is offset by a decrease in disposal costs at the County level. The Administrator also noted that going to single-sort recycling has the potential to increase costs as well. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO.2006-6-133 -SUPPORTING SINGLE-SORT RECYCLING ON THE BASIS OF FAVORABLE CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE CITY'S REFUSE HAULERS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CONSENT Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: AGENDA RESOLUTION NO.2006-6-134 -APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA WHICH CONTAINES THE FOLLOWING: *APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS; *APPROVAL OF TEMPORARY ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSES FOR THE LITTLE CANADA RECREATION ASSOCIATION FOR CANADIAN DAYS, A KITTENBALL TOURNAMENT, AND HALLOWEEN DANCE; *APPROVAL OF TEMPORARY ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSE FOR LITTLE CANADA CANADIAN DAYS COMMITTEE FOR THE CANADIAN DAYS CELEBRATION; *APPROVAL OF AN INCREASE IN THE CITY'S INS URANCE DEDUCTIBLE TO $2,500 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE FINANCF. DIRECTOR; *ACCEPTANCE OF AN EASEMENT FOR THE COUNTRY DRIVE SIDE WALK FROM THE PORTERHOUSE RESTAURANT; *ADOPTION OF THE AUTOMARK VOTING SYSTEM PLAN AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY CLERK;
