SHIFSKY <br />FOR 2006IMPROVEMENTS; <br />~"AUTHORI7.ATION TO ADVERTISE THE VACANCY ON THE <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />DRIVEWAY The City Administrator reviewed the report relative Co the establishment <br />PERMITS of requirements for driveway permits as well as a driveway permit fee. He <br />noted the survey of surrounding cities all of which have this requiremenC. <br />The Administrator explained that implementing a driveway permit system <br />will ensure that driveways are installed in compliance with setback <br />requirements, curb cut width limitations, and other Code requirements. <br />Staff is recommending requiring driveway permits as well as a $25 permit <br />fee. <br />Blesener noted the implementing this system would eliminate problems <br />Chat the City has experienced in with driveways too close Co property lines <br />and intersections. <br />Keis asked if a separate driveway permit would be required for a new <br />house in addition to the building permit. The City Administrator <br />suggested that this could be a possibility, and noted that multiple permits <br />are already required for new construction, i.e. plumbing permit, electrical <br />permit, mechanical permit. <br />Allan indicated that she liked Vadnais Heights' requirement for driveway <br />permits for new, expanded, or altered driveways. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO.2006-6-735 -DIRECTING STAFF TO PUT <br />TOGETHER AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT RELATIVE TO THE <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF DRIVEWAY PERMIT REQUIREMENTS <br />AND DRIVE WA Y PERMIT FEES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
