1 presidential primary shall be announced, held, and conducted, <br />2 and the results canvassed and returned in the manner provided by <br />3 law for other Primaries and in accordance with the general <br />.4 election laws of the state, insofar as they are applicable. If <br />5 any municipality which customarily uses lever voting machines or <br />6 an electronic voting system determines that the use of the <br />7 machines or voting system mould not be practical in the <br />3 presidential primary, the municipality may use a paper ballot <br />5 for the presidential primary. <br />10 Sec. 4. (2071.04] (AUDITOR FURNISHED INFORIAATION BY ' <br />li SECRETARY OF STATE; BALLOT PREPARATION.] <br />12 Subdivision 1. Prior to February 1 of the year in which a <br />13 Presidential primary is to be held, the secretary of state shall <br />14 have a notice delivered to the county auditor of each county <br />15 advising him of the date of the presidential primary. Each <br />16 county auditor, on receiot of the notice, shall have a notice of <br />17 the date of the presidential primary delivered to each town and <br />18 city clerk in his county. At least 15 days before the date of <br />19 the presidential primary, each town and city clerk shall post a <br />20 public notice at his office stating the date and hours during <br />21 which the polling places in that municipality will be open. <br />22 Failure to give the notice shall not invalidate the election. <br />23 Subd. 2. The secretary of state shall prepare paper <br />ballots, absentee ballot envelopes, ballot return envelopes, <br />23 election return envelopes and summary statements for use in the <br />26 presidential primary. The ballots shall be printed on white <br />27 caper with a separate ticket containing the names of the <br />29 candidates of each political party. <br />29 Sec. 5.
