ZONING CODE <br />of twenty (20) feet which may be used for parking. If the rear yard <br />of an industrial district abutts on or is across an alley from a <br />residential district, the provisions of paragraph c of this section <br />shall apply. <br />(ej It shall be the .olic of the Council to issue permits for the <br />construction of buildings in the industria istiic s on er <br />of the actual widths and areas required by' the builder to allow room <br />for such building and its use to conform with this ordinance. Each <br />proposal shall be referred to the Planning Commission for study and <br />recommendation. The Planning Commission shall report to the Council <br />on any matter pertaining to an industrial development proposal within <br />forty (40) days from the date upon which said proposal was submitted <br />by the Council. In the event that the Planning Commission fails to <br />report within this time limit, the Council may act upon the matter <br />without such report and may either grant or deny the applicati.onbya <br />___.. <br />,, .: -a .3 ip 1Lv vote or its mempersnip. <br />(f) No building constructed in the industrial district shall be more than <br />forty (40) feet in height. <br />(g) In the industrial district, the floor- area -ratio shall be a maximum <br />of 0.3 for a one -story building and 0.4 for a two -story building. <br />911.070. HEIGHT LIMITATION EXEMPTIONS. As set forth in this Code, height <br />limitations shall not apply to church spires, cupolas, water towers, observation <br />•rs, flag poles, chimneys, smoke stacks,iradio and television towers, grain <br />elevators and similar construction unless, in the- opLriion'of the building inspector, <br />c-ch construction might be dangerous or in other ways detrimental to surrounding <br />,property in which case a /special permitiby the Council shall be required. <br />(Source: Ord. 45. :•.needed: Ord. 70.) <br />912. OFF- STREET PARKING AND OFF- STREET LOADING. <br />912.010. OFF STREET PARKING. <br />(a) A parking space, as referred to in this Code, shall be at least nine <br />(9) feet wide by twenty (20) feet long. in considering parking lots, <br />a standard of 300 square feet per parking space shall be used to <br />compute total requirements including :maneuvering areas. <br />(b) Off- street parking will not be permitted in any front yard or side <br />yard bordering on a street except in neighborhood business districts. <br />(c) Any off- street parking area containing five (5) or more parking spaces <br />must be screened from any adjacent residential area by proper planting. <br />(d) Spaces for residential parking shall be on the same lot as the principal <br />building. <br />(e) Off- street parking in residential districts shall be used only for the <br />narking of non- conrnercial vehicles. <br />(f) All off - street parking areas shall fie provided with a dustless surface, <br />nd.•r:i-ire drainnee and if lightin5 is lised, it shall he directed away <br />4 <br />
