The addressing of the other fire code deficiencies specified in
your March 3, 1982, report at an estimated cost of $11,320.00,
and:
2. The repair of the Association's pool roof system, which failed on
January 22, 1982, at an estimated cost of $25,000.00
The above two (2) items total $36,320.00 and if the emergency lighting
system were also included the Association would be faced with funding over
$44,000.00 of unexpected expenses out of its 1982 budget. Obviously this
cannot be done and the Association has little choice but to request an
extension of the 90 day compliance time noted in your March 3, 1982, report
for the installation of the emergency lighting system.
We would like to address the emergency lighting system, on a planned
basis, in our 1983 budget and you indicated during our conversation that
this would be acceptable. Unless we hear to the contrary, we will proceed
with a 1983 time compliance schedule for the installation of the emergency
lighting.
We would like to be kept abreast of your research into the proposal
made by Ted Glasrud Associates for complying with the emergency lighting
provisions of the fire code. If I correctly understood your remarks, this
proposal would entail using an Northern States Power alternative electrical
power transformer grid and would be significantly less costly than installing
a conventional emergency lighting system.
