Boss
Little Canada Fire Department
440 Little Canada Road
St. Paul, Minnesota 55117
Dear Dick:
(612) 339 -8831
700 GALAXY IUILDING
330 SECOND AVENUE SOUTH
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA 55401
Enclosed please find an original and a copy of a proposed Fire
Service Contract. I have left the amounts for the payment and
for the Relief Association funding blank to be filled in when
those amounts have been determined.
As I indicated to you at our meeting on February 18, this proposed
Contract has a number of provisions which will protect the Fire
Department under certain situations. For example, it limits the
Fire Department's liability to the city or any inhabitant for
failure of the Department to put out a fire only to those situa-
tions where the Department's behavior is willful or grossly
negligent.
Please review the Contract and if you have any questions or suggested
additions give me a call. If not, you may forward the Contract to
the city attorney and if he has any comments have him call me. As
I told you at our meeting, last year we never received any comment
from the city attorney.
I have also reviewed the Minutes of the Fire Department and the
Relief Association and everything appears to be in order. As to the
Relief Association, please notify me when and to what extent the
By -Laws will be amended to increase the service pension.
DAB:ddb
enclosures
Very truly yours,
David A.
