Little Canada City Council
Little Canada Planning Commission
January 18, 1982
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
METROPOLITAN COUNCIL RECOMMENDATION
Page Ave
The plan is consistent with the requirements of the Metropolitan Lard Planning Act, except
that the following information should be added to the CIF'.
a. The CIP should be amended to include a statement of need for each project, the
financial impact that each will have on the city, and the estimated contribution
from each financial source to the cost of each project.
b. The city should include information on existing and proposed debt service schedules
grouped by categories of debt for past and future CIP projects.
RESPONSE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
City Equipment
The City of Little Canada's equipment request indicates that additional equipment is
needed for the replacement of worn equipment and for the expansion of the Public Works
Department to allow the most effective maintenance of municipal utility systems.
Sanitary Sewer and Water System
Sanitary sewer and water improvements are generally commenced by petitions to
provide service to new developed areas of the City. However, the City has initiated
several proposed water system improvements which should proceed in the comina year.
The City has identified six water projects that are necessary to provide municipal
service to new developing areas of the City and to loop the existing water systems
(see pages 7 and 8 following).
The Rice Street extension between Minnesota Avenue and Little Canada Road will loop
the existing water system west by connecting with the pipeline at Minnesota Avenue,
County Road C and Little Canada Road.
61
