MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 11, 2006 <br />VIKING The City Administrator announced that the City has been granted a <br />DRIVE $400,000 grant by the Minnesota Department of Transportation to assisC <br />REALIGNMENT in the Viking Drive realignment project. The Administrator anticipated <br />Chat the Council would be presented with grant documenCS for approval in <br />the near futw•e. The Administrator acknowledged State Representative <br />Scalze's efforts on behalf of the City in support of this grant. <br />VALOR Fred Sedaghat, Valor Enterprises, appeared before the Council and asked <br />ENTERPRISES what it would take to resolve the current problems that he has created. <br />Sedaghat reported that he has been working and making some progress in <br />cleaning up his property. He noted that he has removed 17 vehicles from <br />Che property. Sedaghat reported that he wants to work things out with Che <br />City and wants more time to bring his property into conformance. <br />The City Administrator reported that he met with Mr. Sedaghat last week <br />at which time he asked for more time to clean up his property. The <br />Administrator noted that he informed Mr. Sedaghat that he did not have <br />the authority to grant him more time, that only the City Council could do <br />that. The Administrator reported that he informed Mr. Sedaghat that given <br />the discussion that occurred at the last meeting, he did not think it was <br />likely the Council would reconsider. <br />The Administrator reported that since the lasC meeting the City has learned <br />that Mr. Sedaghat has parked vehicles illegally in other areas of the City. <br />Deputy Dan Ruettiman, Ramsey County Sheriff's Department, reported <br />that the Department has towed eight vehicles belonging to Mr. Sedaghat. <br />Some were parked illegally or did not have proper registraCion. Areas <br />where vehicles were towed include the Snyder's property on Rice Street, <br />Petro Market at Rice and County Road C, and the Burger King on Rice <br />Street. These vehicles were sitting in the parking lots with for sale signs <br />on them. Some were not licensed. <br />Blesener stated that it is his understanding Chat Chere are been employees <br />working at Valor Enterprises. Deputy Ruettiman stated that he observed <br />an employee on one occasion. <br />Blesener stated that while he would like Co give Valor Enterprises more <br />time, this situation has been on going for the pasC 2 r/z to 3 years. Blesener <br />noted that since the last meeting, the City has learned that Valor <br />Enterprises has taken a number of vehicles to other properties in the City <br />as mentioned by the Deputy, as well as to Sailboard Warehouse, and the <br />former Knox property.
