MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 11, 2006
Sedaghat's parC to make it look like he is cleaning up his property, when in
fact he is illegally parking cars on other properties. Blesener also reported
that a City employee informed him that he saw a car brought into Valor
Enterprises on a flatbed after the last Council meeting. This was one of
the vehicles that was then illegally parked on another property with afor-
salesign in its window. Blesener stated that even if Valor Enterprises
were given more time, he is convinced that nothing would happen.
Sedaghat reported that he did park cars on other properties, such as Burger
King and Maaco, but that occurred prior to the September 27`h Council
meeting.
Blesener noted that the City found ouC about this after last meeting once it
began receiving calls from property owners about these cars appearing on
their properties. Blesener again stated that it was his opinion that this was
done to make it appear the Valor property was being cleaned up.
Sedaghat stated that he did not know how to resolve this situation without
additional time. He pointed out the Chousands of dollars Chat he has had to
pay in towing costs.
Blesener pointed out Sedaghat's repeated requests over the years for
additional time, and the fact that no improvements are made. Blesener
questioned how the City could expect that anything would be done this
time.
Sedaghat indicated that things will happen, and if the City gives him a
chance, it will be pleased with whaC he can do.
Allan indicated that Mr. Sedaghat previously indicated how busy he is and
how he is trying to get things done. She noted that when the City gave
him an additional 90 days earlier this summer, nothing was done to
improve the property condition. Allan noted that Mr. Sedaghat indicated
that he is spinning his wheels. She felt that Mr. Sedaghat is spinning the
City's wheels and taking up much too much of the City Council's time,
Staff time, the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department's time, and the
court's time. Allan stated that she was opposed to the additional time
requested by Mr. Sedaghat.
Montour asked if Sedaghat had permission of the property owners to park
the vehicles on their property. Mr. Sedaghat replied that he did not. He
indicated that he saw a number of vehicles for sale up and down Rice
Street, and he moved his vehicles to those locations.
11
