A. SCHIFSKY <br />FOR 20067MPROVEMENTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LAW The City Administrator presented athree-year law enforcement contract <br />ENFORCEMENT with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department for Council action. <br />CONTRACT <br />Blesener noted that he recently read an article relative to the campaign for <br />the Ramsey County Sheriff's seat. He noted statements that were made <br />that the Sheriff's Department is the police force for Ramsey County. <br />Blesener noted that the City of Little Canada contracts with the Ramsey <br />County Sheriff's Department for policing services, and pays additional <br />dollars to the Sheriff's Department for these services over whaC is <br />collected by the County in Cheir tax levy for policing. <br />The Administrator noted that while this is athree-year contract, the City <br />has annual approval over the Sheriff's budget for Little Canada policing <br />costs. There is also a cancellation provision in Che contract. <br />Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-IO-237 -APPROVING THE THREE-YEAR <br />CONTRACT WITH THE RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S <br />DEPARTMENT FOR POLICIN SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE <br />CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
