MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 11, 2006 Keis noted that this problem was caused by development outside the RCC property, and asked how the City will ensure that drainage impacts from future projects do not result in this problem in the future. The City Administrator indicated that the City Engineer at the time, felt thaC the City's motivation was to get a project developed, and as a result did not take a tougher stance on the drainage from this project which impacted the RCC property. The City Administrator felt that the practices of the current City Engineer are far more diligenC and that drainage impacts to surrounding properties are a consideration in his project drainage reviews. Keis noted that if this drainage had been addressed in the original project, Che City would not be faced with correcting Chis problem years later. The City Administrator replied Chat that was correct. He noted that the City does not want to have to pay to correct drainage problems which should be the responsibility of a developer at the time of development. Montour asked Che age of RCC's parking lot. Crownhart estimated the age at 12 Co 15 years. She noted that the parking loC is in excellent condition excepC for some minor areas. Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2006-IO-238 -AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECS FOR THE RESOURCES FOR CHILD CARING DRAINAGE PROJECT, AND INDICATING THAT THE CITY'S INTENTION IS TO BID THIS PROJECT AS PART OF THE 20077MPROVEMENT5 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CALL FOR The City Administrator reported that RAB, LLC would like to place a HEARING - monument sign at their new building located at 2935 Counh•y Drive. VACATION Given the extra wide right-of-way for CounC~y Drive, the property owner OF PORTION does not have adequate room between the curb line and the right-of-way OF COUNTRY to install their sign. The Administrator reported that staff has reviewed DRIVE this matter and believes a portion of the Country Drive right-of-way can RIGHT-OF-WAY be vacated to accommodate the sign, while leaving Che City in excess of 60 feet of right-of-way. The proposal would be to vacate approximately 11 feet of Country Drive as abuts 2935 Country Drive.
