MINUTES <br />Planning Commission <br />July 7, 1983 <br />Manufactured Mrs. Timmons reported that at the last meeting the Planner indicated <br />Housing that State law does not permit discrimination against manufactured <br />housing. However, the Planner felt that due to pending legislation, <br />the Commission should table the matter. The Planner felt that there <br />may be more information on this subject by the August Planning <br />Commission meeting. <br />Market Place <br />Rezoning & <br />Variance <br />Ms. Bronken asked the Commission to defer this matter until Mr. Licht <br />is present at the August meeting. <br />Mr. Costa recommended tabling the matter of manufactured housing until <br />the Commission receives more information from the City Planner. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. DeLonais. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />Ur. Jim Stellick of the Market Place appeared before the Commission <br />requesting that the Market Place's zoning of Light Industrial he <br />changed to B -3, General Business. Mr. Stellick pointed out that the <br />L -I zoning does not include retail use since the City's zoning <br />definitions were changed in about 1980. <br />Mr. Stellick also reported that he is requesting a variance for the side <br />yard set back for the Market Place to allow for the future expansion of <br />the mall. <br />Mr. Costa asked if Applehaums will be staying at the mall. Mr. Stellick <br />replied that the mall would like them to stay and Applehaums is <br />considering expanding some of their stores. <br />Mr. Costa asked the status of the senior citizens housing project. 'Ir. <br />French reported that the bids have been taken for the construction. <br />Mr. DeLonais asked the Planner if she had any problems with the requests. <br />Ms. Bronken replied that the requests are justified. <br />Mrs. Timmons asked if there were any legal ramifications to the City in <br />down- zoning a property. Ms. Bronken replied that there were not as the <br />down- zoning is being requested by the property owner. <br />1!r. DeLonais recommended approval of the rezoning of the Market Place <br />property from Light - Industrial. to B -3, General Business. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. French. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />Page -7 <br />
