MINUTES Planning Commission September 1, 1983 Speedy Market (Cont.) Mrs. Timmons recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit and necessary variances requested by Speedy Market subject to compliance with the conditions of the Planner's report, Exhibit C Recommended Alternative Plan. Motion seconded by Mrs. ICi.ngsbury. Motion carried 7 - 0. Hoffman Mrs. Timmons reported that at the last Commission meeting, a Matter developer appeared who was interested in developing the Hoffman property into six lots and utilizing the existing driveway for access to the property. However, it would he necessary for the developer to obtain 10 additional feet in order to have a 50 foot right -of -way for the street. Mr. and Mrs. Greg Paddock and Mr. and Mrs. Ed McCumber appeared before the Commission to inform them that they were opposed to access to the Hoffman property with the existing 40 feet of right - of -way. Mr. Paddock informed the Commission that his garage is currently 5 feet from the existing driveway. The McCumber's have an easement on the existing 40 feet for parking of their vehicles. The Paddock's and McCumber's have indicated that they will not give an additional 10 feet for the road right -of -way. Mrs. Paddock stated that she was opposed to the road, not the additional homes being proposed. Speedy After the representatives of the Speedy Market left the meeting, Market Mrs. Dorris Klein, owner of the property to the south appeared before (Cont.) the Commission. Mrs. Klein reported that she has water problems on her property, part of which is caused by run -off from the Speedy Market. The Planner reported that he will have the Engineer take a look at this property. Mrs. Timmons requested that the Council take a look at the drainage problems of the Klein property when considering the Speedy Market improvement. The Planner reported that he has recommended curbing along the Klein property in his report. Page -3-
