MINUTES <br />Planning Commission <br />September 1, 1983 <br />Speedy <br />Market <br />(Cont.) <br />Mrs. Timmons recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit <br />and necessary variances requested by Speedy Market subject to <br />compliance with the conditions of the Planner's report, Exhibit C <br />Recommended Alternative Plan. <br />Motion seconded by Mrs. ICi.ngsbury. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />Hoffman Mrs. Timmons reported that at the last Commission meeting, a <br />Matter developer appeared who was interested in developing the Hoffman <br />property into six lots and utilizing the existing driveway for <br />access to the property. However, it would he necessary for the <br />developer to obtain 10 additional feet in order to have a 50 foot <br />right -of -way for the street. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Greg Paddock and Mr. and Mrs. Ed McCumber appeared <br />before the Commission to inform them that they were opposed to <br />access to the Hoffman property with the existing 40 feet of right - <br />of -way. <br />Mr. Paddock informed the Commission that his garage is currently <br />5 feet from the existing driveway. The McCumber's have an easement <br />on the existing 40 feet for parking of their vehicles. <br />The Paddock's and McCumber's have indicated that they will not <br />give an additional 10 feet for the road right -of -way. <br />Mrs. Paddock stated that she was opposed to the road, not the additional <br />homes being proposed. <br />Speedy After the representatives of the Speedy Market left the meeting, <br />Market Mrs. Dorris Klein, owner of the property to the south appeared before <br />(Cont.) the Commission. Mrs. Klein reported that she has water problems on <br />her property, part of which is caused by run -off from the Speedy Market. <br />The Planner reported that he will have the Engineer take a look at <br />this property. <br />Mrs. Timmons requested that the Council take a look at the drainage <br />problems of the Klein property when considering the Speedy Market <br />improvement. <br />The Planner reported that he has recommended curbing along the Klein <br />property in his report. <br />Page -3- <br />
