MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 25, 2006
The City Planner noted his recommendation for denial of the two separate
signs (N02 and E02), and the Planning Commission's recommendation
that these two signs be combined. The Planner indicated that Patricia
Ringh, Arrow Design, has agreed to the combination of these two signs.
Blesener noted that the E02 sign says "Truck Rentals & Moving
Supplies". He asked if approval was needed to include a truck rental
business at Shurgard Self Storage. The City Planner indicated that the
PUD Agreement for Shurgard does not include approval for a truck rental
business, and an Amendment to the PUD would be needed.
Patricia Ringh indicated that Shurgard is agreeable to combining the two
signs and staying within the 125 square feet. She was not sure, however,
as to what the sign would say.
The City Planner noted that the result is the addition of one new sign
(NO1) which is a sign internal to the property.
Keis noted that if truck rental is occurring at the property, an additional
PUD Amendment will be required. Blesener agreed, but noted that this is
a separate from the signage proposal Keis stated that he did not want to
approve a sign for truck rental before the PUD Permit allowing truck
rental is approved.
Ringh stated that the one internal sign does not refer to truck rental, and
Shurgard is not yet sure what the combination of the N02 and E02 signage
will say.
The City Planner indicated that the owners will be contacted relative to the
truck rental business and instructed that a separate PUD application will
be required for them to conduct that business.
There was no one else present from the general public wishing to
comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Allan, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was
closed.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.2006-IO-252 -APPROVING THE AMENDMENT
TO PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT ALLOWING ADDITIONAL
SIGNAGE AT THE SHURGARD SELF STORAGE PROPERTY AT 55
COUNTY ROAD B EAST, ALLOWING ONE ADDITIONAL SIGN
