MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JUNE 8, 2006
business. Sedaghat reported that he has more cars and repairables waiting
for work to be done, but he does not have the staff to do the work.
Sedaghat pointed out that he has an Auto Repair License, and questioned
Che City's ability to limit the number of cars that he repairs. Sedaghat
noted that he has repairable and non-repairable cars on his lot and
questioned why he has to track how many of each he has. Sedaghat
indicated that he has no debris on his property; however, there are parts
outside that cannot be stored inside since he rents a portion of his building
to make money.
Sedaghat requested that he be given an opportunity to correct the problems
at his property. He indicated that staffing and financial problems have
worked against him over the past year. Given his staffing problems,
Sedaghat indicated that he has been purchasing vehicles that do not
require much work so that he can turn them around quickly. Sedaghat also
reported that he had 12 vehicles which were damaged when his property
flooded, and he has been working with the insurance company on that
issue.
Sedaghat reported that so far the City has worked with him, and he
requested a period of lime to clean up his property. Sedaghat reported that
he is in a tough period at this time, and revocation of his CUP's would
destroy him financially.
Sedaghat reported that he will hire someone Co take Che debris and tires.
However, he does not know what to do about the water problem.
Sedaghat reported that the front of his building is one of the nicest in the
neighborhood. It is just the back of the building that is a problem, and
Sedaghat indicated that the property reflects the nature of the business,
which is a auto body repair shop.
Duray pointed out the continuing nature of the problem and the
appearance that the business is overwhelming for Mr. Sedaghat. He noted,
however, that regardless of employee and financial problems, Mr.
Sedaghat is required to comply with the CUP.
Sedaghat reported that he accepts that and is willing to comply. Sedaghat
pointed out Chat Che cars will be on the property whether Che City revokes
the CUP or not. Sedaghat reported that he needs time to clean up the
property.
Hall noted that Valor Enterprises has been in iCS location since 1999, and
the conditions of the CUP were made clear to Mr. Sedaghat aC the time of
issuance. Sedaghat pointed out that there have been many changes since
1999, and he applied for an Amendment to the CUP.
14
