ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1101 <br />RELATING TO DOGS AND ANIMAL CONTROL <br />THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. <br />Chapter 1101 of the Municipal Code of the City of Little <br />Canada is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 1101.010. DEFINITIONS. As used in this chapter, <br />except as otherwise provided, the following terms shall have the <br />respective meanings ascribed to them: <br />Animal shelter: Any premises designated by action of the <br />city for the purposes of impounding and caring for animals found <br />in violation of this chapter. <br />At large: Not under restraint as defined in this section. <br />Barking dogs: Any dog that barks, bays, cries, howls or <br />makes any other noise continuously and /or incessantly for a <br />period of ten (10) minutes or barks intermittently for thirty <br />(30) minutes or more at any time either day or night. <br />Biting dog: Any dog who has bitten, scratched or caused <br />any other injury to a human being under circumstances where, at <br />the time of the attack, the victim was lawfully conducting <br />himself, including premises owned or controlled by the owner of <br />the animal if such location is commonly open to the public, such <br />as a driveway, sidewalk or boulevard, or the victim was on such <br />premises at the express or implied invitation of the owner of <br />the animal. <br />Cat: Any domesticated feline animal, male or female, whole <br />or neutered. <br />Dangerous dog: Any dog that, without being provoked, <br />exhibits an "attack" behavior, or has bitten one or more <br />persons. <br />Dog: Any canine animal, male or female, whole or neutered. <br />Dog enclosure: Any enclosure constructed for shutting in <br />or enclosing dogs and having an area less than two thousand <br />(2,000) square feet. <br />Own: Unless otherwise specified, shall be deemed to mean <br />keep, harbor, or have control, charge, or custody of an animal <br />Page 7 <br />
