MINUTES
Planning Commission
February 11, 1988
FinaServe
CUP (Cont.)
Jim Leibel
Property
Division
hours of operation from 6 A.M. until Midnight. However, if requested,
the Council could approve a 24 -hour operation.
Becker stated that FinaServe may request a 24 -hour operation.
McLaughlin indicated that FinaServe would like to begin construction
as soon as weather is permitting.
Costa asked the size of the property.
The Planner replied that the property was 3 /4ths of an acre.
Costa asked how much parking was required on -site.
The Planner replied that 11 parking spaces are required for the
convenience store.
Herkenhoff asked about the possibility of Viking Drive being closed.
The Planner explained how access to Viking Drive could be achieved
from Minnesota Avenue and the possibility of the intersection adjacent to
FinaServe being vacated. However, the Planner felt the likelihood of
this ever happening was slim.
Mrs. Timmons recommended approval of the FinaServe conditional use
permit for convenience food store as presented subject to the
recommendations of the City Planner as contained in his February 10,
1988 report.
Motion seconded by DeLonais.
Motion carried 7 - 0.
Jim Leibel appeared before the Commission and explained that he and
his brother are purchasing some property located off Twin Lake Blvd.
from Gene Fasciana and Dennis Palm. Leibel requested the division of
this property so that he can increase the size of his current lot and
also to create a lot so that his brother can construct a home.
The City Planner explained that this proposal was reviewed previously
by the Commission and the Council and at that time Bob Leibel was
given a variance in order to construct a house on the proposed lot
that is before the Commission this evening. As part of the variance
approval, Mr. Leibel was required to plat the property, and this is
what is before the Commission this evening.
DeLonais asked Mr. Leible to review the Planner's recommendations
contained in his February 5, 1988 report.
Leibel replied that he was agreeable to the recommendations of the
Planner.
Page 2
