MINUTES
Planning Commission
July 12, 1984
Tom Durray
(Cont.)
Mrs. Timmons stated that the lay —out looks like it could cause a
drainage problem.
Mr. Davison stated that he was concerned that the screening of the
parking lot will attract people to party in this area. Davison also
asked about screening from the property on the north. The Planner
commented that the ordinance does not require commercial property to
screen from each other.
Mr. DeLonais asked about the type of fence between this property and
the Peterson property. Mr. Durray described the fence and requested
that the fence could be 10 feet high after the first 40 feet. Durray
presented a proposed sketch of the fence.
Mrs. Timmons pointed out that the Commission was aware of Mr. Durray's
plans for the property.
Mr. DeLonais commented that if the drainage issues can be resolved,
he felt that the Planning Commission would recommend approval. Mr.
Durray replied that he is willing to work out any problems.
Mr. Herkenhoff felt that there would be a problem keeping people out
of the car wash. Mrs. Timmons pointed out that the City can require
a gate.
Mr. Davison again expressed concern about the fenced parking area.
Mr. Ducharme did not feel that a four foot fence would screen
the parking to an extent that there would be a problem created with
people partying in that area.
Mrs. Kingsbury asked about the hours of operation. Mr. Durray stated
that he would like to operate 24 hours a day at first, and if a
problem arises, the City could restrict the hours.
Mr. Herkenhoff recommended that the Durray conditional use permits
be tabled pending a drainage report from the City Engineer.
Motion seconded by Mr. Perlinger.
Motion carried 7 — 0.
Foster Home The Planner reported that the matter on Foster homes is a redefinition
of the term in the City Code.
Mr. Perlinger recommended that the new definition on foster homes
be acctped.
Motion seconded by Mr. Ducharme.
Motion carried 7 — 0.
Page —8—
