ANIMALS <br />Chapter Page <br />1101. Dogs <br />1102. Kennels <br />1103. Livestock <br />1104. Horses <br />1101. DOGS <br />1101.010. RUNNING AT LARGE. No person shall permit any dog to run at <br />large in the City at any time. It shall be a violation of this Code for any <br />owner or custodian of any dog to permit such dog to run at large upon the <br />private property of any other person, or upon any street, road, alley, <br />cartway, park, playground, schoolgrounds, church property or other public or <br />private property other than the property of the owner or custodian. No dog <br />shall be permitted upon any public place or thoroughfare or upon the property <br />of another, unless the animal is under control by means of a leash. <br />1101.020. IMPOUNDING. Any dog that is found upon any public place, <br />or upon private property other than that of its owner or custodian, and <br />unattended and without a leash shall be seized and impounded and the owner of <br />such dog shall be subject to penalty hereinafter provided. <br />1101.030. RESTRAINT OF PREMISES. It shall be the obligation and <br />responsibility of the owner or custodian of any dog in Little Canada, whether <br />permanently or temporarily therein, to prevent such dog from committing any of <br />the following acts: to bark habitually or for more than five (5) minutes <br />continuously; to molest, defile, despoil or destroy any property, including <br />lawns, shrubs, trees, flowers, grass; to annoy, bark at, or chase persons, <br />vehicles, or horses lawfully using the streets or roads; to injure or kill the <br />dog or pet of another unless such dog or pet of another is unlawfully on <br />property not belonging to its owner. If any dog does commit any such act, the <br />owner of that dog shall be subject to penalties provided for in violation of <br />this Code. <br />1101.040. INTERFERENCE WITH OFFICIALS. It shall be unlawful for any <br />person to molest or in any way interfere with any peace officer or City <br />official or agent while engaged in performng, work under the provisions of this <br />Code. <br />1101.050. VIOLATION. Any peace officer or any person duly authorized <br />by the City Council, may capture, seize or impound any dog found within the <br />City in violation of any provisions of this Code. <br />106 <br />107 <br />
