1101.060. IMPOUNDING FEE. Any dog so seized and impounded may be <br />redeemed by any person proving ownership of such dog by sworn statement in <br />writing within five (5) days after such seizure and impoundment. Before the <br />owner shall be permitted to resume possession of such dog he shall pay to the <br />City Clerk, or to such agent as the Council may designate, all fees and costs <br />of seizure and impoundment together with a deposit in the nature of payment of <br />bail if the City officer or agent issues a complaint against such owner or <br />custodian for violation of this Code. <br />1101.070. IMPOUNDING DOGS. At the expiration of five (5) days from <br />the time a dog is impounded as provided for herein and if said dog has not <br />been reclaimed in accordance with the provisions hereof, such dog may he <br />killed according to the most humane and approved method or otherwise disposed <br />of as directed by the City Council. <br />1101.080. VICIOUS DOGS. The City Council, its officers or agents, <br />shall have the power to order the destruction of any dog which is deemed <br />dangerous and vicious after three (3) days written notice to and an <br />opportunity afforded the owner or keeper of such dog to be heard. Whenever it <br />shall appear to the satisfaction of the City Council, its officers or agents, <br />that any dog while running at large has bitten one or more persons, such dog <br />shall be deemed a vicious dog. <br />1101.090. LICENSE AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED. All dogs over three (3) <br />months of age kept, harbored or maintained within the City shall be licensed <br />and registered. Dog licenses shall be issued by the City Clerk upon payment <br />of a license fee of Ten Dollars ($10.00) for each dog and shall be valid for a <br />period of two (2) years at which time the license must be renewed. The fee <br />for renewal shall be Four Dollars ($4.00) and all renewals shall be subject to <br />the provisions of Section 1101.110 of this Chapter. The applicant shall give <br />the following information on forms provided by the Clerk. <br />Owner's name and address; name, breed (if known), color <br />and sex of the dog. <br />The provisions of this Section shall not be intended to apply to dogs <br />whose owners are visitors temporarily in the City for sixty (60) days or less, <br />to dogs brought into the City for appearance in a dog show, or to "seeing eye" <br />dogs trained to assist blind persons when such dogs are actually being used by <br />blind persons as "seeing eye" dogs. <br />Any owner of three (3) or more dogs which come within the requirements <br />of this Section shall be required to obtain a special permit from the City <br />Clerk which shall be in a nature of a kennel license. The cost of said permit <br />shall be Twenty Dollars ($20.00), and application therefor shall be made upon <br />forms provided by the office of the City Clerk. Said permit shall be <br />renewable every three (3) years and upon each renewal a new application will <br />be submitted and a renewal fee paid in the amount of Twenty Dollars ($20.00). <br />108 <br />107 <br />
