1101.100 DOG TAGS. Upon payment of the license fee the Clerk shall issue to the owner a license certificate and a metallic tag which shall have stamped thereon the number corresponding with the number on the license certificate and the name and address of the owner. Every owner shall be responsible for the tag being worn by the dog at all times. In the event a tag becomes lost, destroyed or rendered illegible for any reason, a duplicate shall be applied for immediately and will be issued by the Clerk upon presentation by the owner of the license certificate and payment of a fee in the amount of Two Dollars and 50/100 ($2.50). Dog tags shall not be transferable from one dog to another and all licenses shall automatically expire upon the death of the dog. 1101.110. VACCINATION. It shall be unlawful for any dog owner to keep or maintain such dog unless it shall have been vaccinated with anti— rabies vaccine by a licensed veterinarian. No license or renewal of license provided for herein shall be issued except upon compliance with this Section. 1101.120. PENALTY. Any violation of this Section shall be deemed a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) or more than Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00). If any violation be continuing, each day's violation shall be deemed a separate one. (Source: Ord. 46, Amended) 1102. KENNELS 1102.010. TERM. For the purposes of this Code a "kennel" is described as any place which operates to provide for boarding, training, confining or otherwise caring for, or providing service to, dogs, cats, or any other domestic pets. This definition shall include any place where two or more female dogs, cats or other domestic pets are kept for breeding purposes. 1102.020. LICENSE REQUIRED. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of operating a kennel within the City unless such person is licensed under the provisions of this Code to so do. This Code shall not apply to a veterinary hospital or clinic operated by a duly licensed and qualified doctor of veterinary medicine licensed under the laws of the State of Minnesota. 1102.030. APPLICATION FORM. A license to operate a kennel shall be obtained from the City Council. Application for license shall be made to the City Clerk and such application shall set forth: 108 109
