1101.100 DOG TAGS. Upon payment of the license fee the Clerk shall <br />issue to the owner a license certificate and a metallic tag which shall have <br />stamped thereon the number corresponding with the number on the license <br />certificate and the name and address of the owner. Every owner shall be <br />responsible for the tag being worn by the dog at all times. In the event a <br />tag becomes lost, destroyed or rendered illegible for any reason, a duplicate <br />shall be applied for immediately and will be issued by the Clerk upon <br />presentation by the owner of the license certificate and payment of a fee in <br />the amount of Two Dollars and 50/100 ($2.50). Dog tags shall not be <br />transferable from one dog to another and all licenses shall automatically <br />expire upon the death of the dog. <br />1101.110. VACCINATION. It shall be unlawful for any dog owner to <br />keep or maintain such dog unless it shall have been vaccinated with <br />anti— rabies vaccine by a licensed veterinarian. No license or renewal of <br />license provided for herein shall be issued except upon compliance with this <br />Section. <br />1101.120. PENALTY. Any violation of this Section shall be deemed a <br />misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) or <br />more than Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00). If any violation be continuing, <br />each day's violation shall be deemed a separate one. <br />(Source: Ord. 46, Amended) <br />1102. KENNELS <br />1102.010. TERM. For the purposes of this Code a "kennel" is <br />described as any place which operates to provide for boarding, training, <br />confining or otherwise caring for, or providing service to, dogs, cats, or any <br />other domestic pets. This definition shall include any place where two or more <br />female dogs, cats or other domestic pets are kept for breeding purposes. <br />1102.020. LICENSE REQUIRED. It shall be unlawful for any person to <br />engage in the business of operating a kennel within the City unless such <br />person is licensed under the provisions of this Code to so do. This Code <br />shall not apply to a veterinary hospital or clinic operated by a duly licensed <br />and qualified doctor of veterinary medicine licensed under the laws of the <br />State of Minnesota. <br />1102.030. APPLICATION FORM. A license to operate a kennel shall be <br />obtained from the City Council.
