Mr. Raymond Hanson, Mayor
June 21, 1984
Page 2
It is planned to request Canmission approval in July, 1984, to use
full metropolitan funds, if federal and state construction grants are
not forthcoming for the construction of the Lower Beltline. This
action would be an additional step to resolve the permitting and start
of construction of both the Lake Gervais and Lower Beltline
Interceptors. In any event, the plan is to initiate construction of
the Lake Gervais Interceptor and to provide additional capacity to
Little Canada and the upstream communities by early 1986.
The Canmission will cooperate with the City to help alleviate problems
until the rew interceptor is available. The City could also help the
situation if foundation drains, sump pumps, roof drains, etc., could
be eliminated fran the local collection system. This would reduce the
flow considerably in the system and help to alleviate the present
problem.
•
Sincerely, /II •
Louis J.
