Except for holiday signs and exceptions provided in provision C., 4. below, any sign which <br />contains or consists of ba nner s, penny nts, ribhons, streamers, strings of light bulbs, spinners, <br />or similar devices. <br />e. Portable signs (except in case of paragraph C., 4.), <br />f. Signs which are attached in any manner to trees, fences, utility poles, or other such permanent <br />supports, except for those signs found on fences (inside) of baseball parks, <br />g. No sign shall display any moving parts, nor shalt it be illuminated with any flashing or <br />intermittent lights, nor shall it be animated. Exempted are time ord temperature information <br />and barber poles. All displays shall be shielded to prevent any light to be directed ct on- <br />coming traffic in such brilliance as to impair the vision of any driver. No device shall be <br />illuminated in such a manner as to interfere with or obscure an official traffic sign or signal, <br />h. Roof signs, <br />General Provisions. <br />All signs shall comply with maintenonce sections of the Minnesota Store 9oilding Code as may be <br />amended. <br />2. When electrical signs are installed, the installation shall be subject to the Store Building Code as <br />may be amended. <br />3. No signs other than governmental signs shall be erectet or temporarily placed within any street <br />right -of -way or upon any public lards or easements or rights -of -way. <br />The temporary use of searchlights,• banners, pennants, and similar devices shall require a permit, <br />The permit shall be valid for seven (7) consecutive days. The permit shall be prominently displayed <br />during the period of volidity. Use of portable signs shall be restricted to information only and may <br />not exceed four (4) square feet (no advertising). <br />5. No sign or sign structure shall protrude over public right -of -way, excep• wall signs (maximum <br />protrusion - eighteen (18) inches). All signs located over public right -of -way or over any <br />public or private access route (sidewalks, etc.) shall he located a minimum of ten (10) feet <br />above surface grade. <br />6. Advertising signs may not be illuminated between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m. <br />7 All signs shall display, in a conspicuous manner, the owner's name, permit number, and date of - <br />erection. <br />8. All height restrictions on signs shall include height of sign structure and be measured from lot grade, <br />9. <br />aided 121___-00. <br />Any sign now or hereafter existing which no longer advertises or 'identifies a bonafide business con- <br />ducted, or a service rendered, or a product sold, ,holl be removed by the owner, agent, or person <br />having the beneficial use and /or control of the building or structure upon which the sign may be <br />--__II found within ten (10) days after written notice from tilts Building Official.. <br />oat v' .E D.
