the responsibilities of each with respect thereto. The land <br />described in Section 2 is presently owned by the District, and the <br />District hereby agrees to lease to the City that portion of it on <br />which the Gymnasium Addition to the School is to be situated on the <br />terms set forth herein. This Agreement is consistent with the <br />District's concept of a "community school" which encourages the use <br />of School facilities for recreational and civic services and <br />activities. <br />Section 2. Location of Facilities. The expansion of the <br />facilities at the School shall be located on a part of the <br />following described land situated in the City: <br />See Exhibit A attached <br />Section 3. Construction of Expansion to Little Canada <br />Elementary School. The District shall be responsible for the <br />construction of the expansion of the School including the Gymnasium <br />Addition in accordance with applicable State law. The District and <br />City presently estimate the total cost of the expansion to the <br />School and City - related facilities as follows: <br />Expansion $1,800,000 <br />Showers and locker room 45- 50,000 <br />Storage space for City use 20- 25,000 <br />Upon completion of construction, the City shall pay the <br />sum of $70,000.00 to the District in consideration of this <br />Agreement. <br />Section 4. Construction of Public Improvements. The <br />District has filed a petition with the City, pursuant to Minnesota <br />Statutes Chapter 429, for the construction of certain public <br />improvements to be used in conjunction with the expansion of the <br />Page 3 <br />
