Meeting
Planning
Commission
June 8, 1989
Edward Stafki
C.P.U.
Outdoor Sales
of Produce
Mr. Grittman was to send a copy of the papers to the
County Engineer.
For several minths the City has received complaints
because people are selling flowers on City street
corners such as Little Canada Road and County Road C.
They need a permit for sales.
It is possible that Mr. Stafki would be excepted
because of the Grandfather situation.
The flower venders need a Conditional Use Permit so
as not to have conflict with other businesses. The
above mentioned flower venders have been moving around.
The established florists have been complaining because
the street venders have been taking their business.
It was pointed out that Mr. Stafki has been selling
produce for many years, for about three months a year.
They felt that they needed to know if this was or was
not a Grandfather situation since the time covered is
approximately 30 years.
It was moved to recommend to the City Council
that Mr. Stafki continue business and assume
that his is a Grandfather situation until
they see that he is not
Slim Frattalone has been selling vegetables. for 60. years.
He also came to the Planning Commission meeting.
It was pointed out to these two gentlemen that the City
has been trying to protect those who live here, who are
taxpayers here. Mr. Slim Frattalone has been selling
for these years so it was questioned if he also was in
a Grandfather situation. It was decided that in the
meantime, he could operate.
It was moved to approve the request for the
Conditional Use Permit on the condition
that the-need for it is determined as to
whether this -is :a Grandfather situation or
not. If not Grandfather, we approve that
they can operate as they have been operating
for so many years. The Commission feels there
is not a conflict of interest.
All in favor: .Ayes.(5), Opposed (0). .Motion carried.
This had•been duly seconded.
Edward treiman Mr. Greiman's mother died.
