MINUTES
Planning Commission
August 10, 1989
Panezer felt that more information on drainage should have
been provided this evening.
The Planner stated that drainage will be handled within
existing drainage easements, and pointed out that at this
time the City Engineer and developer's engineer are working
on the drainage for the project. The Planner also pointed
out that he had previously discussed the location of the
storage shed within the utility easement with the townhome
association.
Pierce was concerned that more information on drainage was
not available this evening, and was concerned that the
public was not presented with the plat showing the proposed
road location.
The Planner reported that drainage questions will be
finalized prior to the City Council meeting on August 23rd.
Pierce felt that the Planning Commission should have
drainage information to assist in their review of the
proposal. Pierce felt that both the Planning Commission and
the general public should have this information, and that it
not be taken for granted that drainage questions will be
resolved.
The City Planner pointed out that the when the Planning
Commission is reviewing a development proposal, they are
addressing whether or not the proposal is in conformance
with the land use plan. Technical questions such as
drainage issues are the responsibility of the City Engineer
and City Council. The Planner pointed out that the
Commission can recommend that a development proposal be
approved subject to the City Engineer's review and approval
of drainage plans.
Panezer reported that he has tried to contact the City
Engineer regarding the drainage plans for this proposal, but
has been unsuccessful.
Bob DeBace pointed out that the City Engineer is probably in
the process of working with the developer's engineer on the
drainage.
DeLonais asked if drainage is something that the Planning
Commission needs to address.
The City Planner stated that drainage is a part of the plat,
and drainage is addressed as part of the grading and
drainage plans.
