MINUTES
Planning Commission
August 10, 1989
Iisakka agreed that this may be true, and reported that the
biggest reason that the front of the Slumberland side is not
sodded is that Yorkton has been slow to get black dirt to
the site.
Costa suggested that either semis be unloaded inside the
Slumberland building or some type of masonry wall be
considered to screen the view of the loading docks from the
residential property to the south.
Hyland stated that the original plan before the Council
called for a berm to screen the view of the loading dock
area,:
The Commission discussed the condition of the property in
more detail and it was felt that action on the Slumberland
application should be tabled pending more information as
well as to give Slumberland an opportunity to clean up the
site.
Bendel recommended that action on the Slumberland plan
review and Conditional Use Permit be tabled until the next
regular Commission meeting pending submission of a complete
landscaping and screening plan and in order to provide
Slumberland time to provide evidence of improvement to the
existing condition of the site.
Motion seconded by Pedersen.
Motion carried 7 - 0.
The Commission noted that this matter will be on the agenda
of their September 14th Seeting. The Planner stated that he
will have the building inspector inspect the site prior to
that meeting and submit a report to the Commission.
DEBACE Jeff DeBace appeared before the Commission requesting(
CUP approval of a Conditional Use Permit to move an existing
GARAGE garage from the Dick & Mary's site on Rice Street to 138
RELOCATION County Road C. The garage is 26 feet by 30 feet and is
stucco. DeBace reported that the garage can be located on
the site without the need for any variances.
The Planner reported that he had no problem with the
request. However, pointed out that Mr. DeBace needs to move
the garage before the Council can take formal action. If
the Commission approves, the Planner recommended that he
Page 10
