MINUTES <br />Planning Commission <br />August 10, 1989 <br />be allowed to move the garage to the site prior to the <br />Council's action, however, the garage will not be <br />permanently installed until after the Council has approved <br />the CUP. <br />Herkenhoff recommended approval of the Jeff DeBace <br />application for Conditional Use Permit to move an existing <br />garage to 138 County Road C subject to the recommendations <br />of the City Planner. <br />Motion seconded by Costa. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />TEXT The City Planner submitted a proposed text amendment <br />AMENDMENT regulating commercial broadcast towers within the City. <br />COMMERCIAL The Planner reported that the ordinance amendment would <br />BROADCAST make it impossible to construct a tower over 200 feet high. <br />TOWERS <br />FIRE HALL <br />DeLonais recommended approval of the proposed text amendment <br />amending Chapter 903.100 (E) relating to television, radio, <br />or telephone transmission or receiving facilities. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Bendel. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />The City Planner reported that the Facilities Committee <br />studied three sites as a possible location for a new fire <br />hall. These sites include the existing City Hall site, the <br />Centerville Road /Little Canada Road site and the Jackson <br />Street /Little Canada Road site. The Planner presented <br />overheads comparing these sites with insurance industry <br />standards. The Planner also reported that the Committee <br />looked at which property would generate more tax revenue for <br />the City, and the Committee determined that the <br />Jackson /Little Canada Road site had the potential to develoL <br />into a larger office -space development. Therefore, the <br />Planner reported that the Committee is recommending the <br />Centerville Road /Little Canada Road site as a new fire hall <br />location. <br />The Planner reported that the City Council has endorsed the <br />recommendation of the Facilities Committee to acquire the <br />Centerville Road /Little Canada Road site. The Planner then <br />reviewed a concept site plan the first phase of which <br />included fire hall sapce which included office space. A <br />second phase could accomodate a City Hall expansion. <br />Page -11- <br />
