MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
DECEMBER 14, 1989
Herkenhoff recommended approval of the site plan for a
31,000 square foot office /showroom building at the
southwest corner of Country Drive and Nadeau Road as
presented by LEB Development subject to the
recommendations of the City Planner as contained in his
report dated December 11, 1989.
Motion seconded by Pedersen.
Motion carried 4 - 1 with Costa voting against.
Costa stated that he feels the homeowners to the north
and south will have a difficult time in selling their
property and should be included in the development at
this time.
Pedersen pointed out that that was a policy decision
made outside this body. The Commission's concern is
whether or not the proposal fits within the
Comprehensive Plan.
Rudy stated that he has no objections to the
development, but feels that the property owners on the
north and south ends are getting the shuffle. Rudy was
concerned that he would be taxed out of his property.
Rudy felt that there should be some commitment on the
part of the developer. Rudy stated that he was looking
for some communication.
Murray reported that Mr. Brueggemann could contact the
property owners giving them a rough time -frame for the
development.
Rudy reported that he has spoken with Mr. Brueggemann
and found him to be vague.
Bendel stated that he can understand the property
owners' frustration, however, the decision was made by
the Council to phase in the development since the
project is only economically feasible if done in
stages.
Rudy stated that he would like some confirmation from
Mr. Brueggemann that he is interested in his property.
Herkenhoff felt the Council should be informed that
communication is important in this matter.
Page 7
