MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
DECEMBER 14, 1989
AMENDMENT TO
PUD FOR
PROPERTY
DIVISION
TWO S
PROPERTIES
Drabik pointed out that there have been numerous
meetings on this issue and it is the property owners'
responsibility as well to keep themselves informed as
to what is going on. Communication is a two -way
street.
Costa pointed out that the Commission has heard the
concerns of property owners in the area. Costa felt
that the City is failing the taxpayers with this
project.
The Planner agreed that there have been a lot of public
meetings held on this matter. The Planner also pointed
out that the property on the north and south that is
proposed for the later phases is large enough that it
can be combined and developed commercially by any
developer who chose to do so. The Planner pointed out
that TIF assistance will be available to assist in the
development of those pieces.
Mr. Todd Jones, Two S Properties, appeared before the
Commission requesting an amendment to a Planned Unit
Development to divide property located at 87 East
County Road B into two lots.
Jones reported that he wishes to divide the
mini - storage from the office /warehouse. Jones pointed
out that these are two distinct uses and each has
separate access and parking.
Jones reported that he owns other mini - storage
facilities, and some time in the future may wish to
sell the office /warehouse building. Jones also
reported that the property division would result in
separate tax statements, making it easier to pass these
costs on to tenants.
Pedersen recommended approval of the amendment to
Planned Unit Development for the property division of
87 East County Road B into two lots as proposed by Two
S Properties subject to the recommendations of the City
Planner as contained in his report dated December 12,
1989.
Motion seconded by Mr. Costa.
Motion carried 6 - 0.
Page 8
