MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
May 3, 1990
Hennessey replied that she has a 6 foot -high fenced
yard. The children play within the fenced yard, unless
they are taken for a walk, and then they are supervised
by adults.
Hennessey reported that two of her families would like
to bring two smaller children to her center. The
County limits the number of infants and toddlers
allowed at the center, therefore, the State license is
required.
Wendy Morgan reported that she currently uses
Hennessey's day care center and would like to bring her
younger child to the center, so that both her children
are at the same day care center together. Morgan
stated that she drives the street each day, and has not
noticed a speeding problem. Morgan also pointed out
that since the two additional children would come from
families already using the center, there would be no
increase in traffic. Morgan also reported that she has
not noticed a parking problem on the cul -de -sac,
pointing out that Hennessey has a large driveway and
the lots on either side of the Hennessey house are
vacant.
Betsy Gerbeck reported that she also uses the Hennessey
day care center and would like to bring an additional
child to the center so that both her children can go to
the same day care center. Gerbeck stated that she may
be guilty of speeding up and down the street, and would
slow down as well as speak to other parents about the
problem. Gerbeck pointed out that there would be no
increase in traffic.
Carle reported that it was his opinion that there was a
problem, and he felt these problems should be addressed
before more children are added to the center. Carle
asked if Hennessey actually ran the day care center,
stating that he was informed that she had another job.
Hennessey stated that she runs the center along with
three other individuals. She did previously have
another job, but is now working at the day care center.
DeLonais pointed out that there is a conditional use
permit involved, and if there are problems at the
center, the City would have the opportunity to address
the situation when the permit comes up for renewal.
Page 3
