MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />JUNE 14, 1990 <br />subject to those rules. <br />Drabik asked if storage of materials was allowed now. <br />The City Planner replied that outdoor storage of <br />materials is currently allowed; it is the processing <br />and recycling that is not permitted. <br />Mrs. Runestrand stated that she was amazed that the <br />operation has been allowed to continue without a <br />permit. Runestrand felt the operation has ballooned, <br />and if the City permits it, Frattalone will want to do <br />more and more. Runestrand felt the operation was very <br />unsitely. <br />Bendel asked Runestrand if the operation was permitted, <br />what restrictions she would like to see. <br />Runestrand stated that <br />restrictions such as a <br />the operation, as well <br />Runestrand also stated <br />controls on the height <br />she would like to see <br />time limit for continuation of <br />as dust control measures. <br />that she would like to see <br />of the stockpiles. <br />DeLonais pointed out that Frattalone runs a clean <br />operation on Spruce Street and felt that something <br />could be worked out for the recycling operation. <br />Costa questioned whether all the dust in the area was <br />from the Frattalone recycling operation, pointing out <br />the fly ash in the area as well as the landscaping <br />business. <br />Runestrand stated that she knows what fly ash is, and <br />the dust is not from fly ash. Runestrand stated that <br />at times the dust is so bad you cannot see across the <br />street. <br />Herkenhoff asked if Runestrand ever met with Frattalone <br />to discuss her concerns. <br />Runestrand replied that she had not. Runestrand also <br />stated that she is not alone in her complaints <br />reporting that there are other businesses in the area <br />which share her concerns. <br />Bendel stated that he is familiar with crushing <br />operations, and they can be quite dusty. <br />Frattalone reported that there is a sprinkler bar on <br />the crusher to keep the dust down.
