CHAPTER No. 590 . S.F. No. 2018 1 specify the percentage of lawful purpose expenditures which must 2 be expended within the trade area. A trade area defined by a 3 city under this subdivision must include each city contiguous to 4 the'defininq city. 5 (c) A more stringent regulation or prohibition of lawful 6 gambling adopted by a political subdivision under this 7 subdivision must apply equally to all forms of lawful gambling 8 within the jurisdiction of the political subdivision. 9 Subd. 2. [LOCAL APPROVAL.] Before issuing or renewing an 10 organization-license a premises permit or bingo hall license, 11 the board must notify the city council of the statutory or home 12 rule city in which the organization's premises or the bingo hall 13 is located or, if the premises or hall is located outside a 14 city, the county board of the county and the.town board of the 15 town where the premises or hall is located. The board may 16 require organizations or bingo halls to notify the appropriate. 17 local government at the time of application. This required 18 notification is sufficient to constitute the notice required by 19 this subdivision. lf- the - city- council-or- county- board - adopts -a 20 regulation- disapproving- the- l4eenae- and- se- in €orms- the-board 21 within -60- days -of- receiving- notice -of- the- applicationr-the 22 license-May- not -be- issued -or- renewed.- The board may not issue 23 or renew a premises permit or bingo hall license unless the 24 organization submits a resolution from the city council or 25 county board approving the premises permit or bingo hall 26 license. The resolution must have been adopted within 60 days 27 of the date of application for the new or renewed permit or 28 license. 29 Sec. 38. Minnesota Statutes 1988, section 349.30, 30 subdivision 2, is amended to read: 31 Subd. 2. "Gambling devicesu- means -slot- Machines; - roulette 32 wheelg;-psnchbeards;- end -pin- bail - machines - which - return- coins -or 33 sings; - chips,- -or- tokens -of- any - kinds- which- are - redeemable -in 34 merchandise -or -cash device" has the meaning given it in section 15 609.75, subdivision 4. 36 Sec. 39.
