CHAPTER No. 590 <br />. S.F. No. 2018 <br />1 specify the percentage of lawful purpose expenditures which must <br />2 be expended within the trade area. A trade area defined by a <br />3 city under this subdivision must include each city contiguous to <br />4 the'defininq city. <br />5 (c) A more stringent regulation or prohibition of lawful <br />6 gambling adopted by a political subdivision under this <br />7 subdivision must apply equally to all forms of lawful gambling <br />8 within the jurisdiction of the political subdivision. <br />9 Subd. 2. [LOCAL APPROVAL.] Before issuing or renewing an <br />10 organization-license a premises permit or bingo hall license, <br />11 the board must notify the city council of the statutory or home <br />12 rule city in which the organization's premises or the bingo hall <br />13 is located or, if the premises or hall is located outside a <br />14 city, the county board of the county and the.town board of the <br />15 town where the premises or hall is located. The board may <br />16 require organizations or bingo halls to notify the appropriate. <br />17 local government at the time of application. This required <br />18 notification is sufficient to constitute the notice required by <br />19 this subdivision. lf- the - city- council-or- county- board - adopts -a <br />20 regulation- disapproving- the- l4eenae- and- se- in €orms- the-board <br />21 within -60- days -of- receiving- notice -of- the- applicationr-the <br />22 license-May- not -be- issued -or- renewed.- The board may not issue <br />23 or renew a premises permit or bingo hall license unless the <br />24 organization submits a resolution from the city council or <br />25 county board approving the premises permit or bingo hall <br />26 license. The resolution must have been adopted within 60 days <br />27 of the date of application for the new or renewed permit or <br />28 license. <br />29 Sec. 38. Minnesota Statutes 1988, section 349.30, <br />30 subdivision 2, is amended to read: <br />31 Subd. 2. "Gambling devicesu- means -slot- Machines; - roulette <br />32 wheelg;-psnchbeards;- end -pin- bail - machines - which - return- coins -or <br />33 sings; - chips,- -or- tokens -of- any - kinds- which- are - redeemable -in <br />34 merchandise -or -cash device" has the meaning given it in section <br />15 609.75, subdivision 4. <br />36 Sec. 39.
