MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION February 8, 1990 Drabik seconded the motion. Motion carried 6 - 1 with Costa voting against. Debbie Grams stated that she would be 'happy to attend a future Planning Commission meeting to discuss TIF. Pedersen suggested that this topic be scheduled for a future meeting when the agenda is relatively light. WELCOME TO On behalf of the Commission members, Bendel welcomed GARSKE new member Garske as a member of the Planning Commission. OTHER DeLonais thanked the Commission for his nomination BUSINESS and election as Vice Chairperson of the Commission at the last meeting. DeLonais stated that he believed politics played a part in the vote for Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Commission last month, pointing out that it is usual courtesy to recognize and elect the senior members of the Commission to the positions of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. DeLonais reported that Peter Costa has been appointed by the City Council to serve 6 three -year terms on the Planning Commission, while he is in his 17th year on the Commission. DeLonais stated that he would like to outline his qualifications. DeLonais reported that he first became involved when the City was in the process of developing a Comprehensive Plan, and he and Costa attended many district meetings on this issue. DeLonais reported that his daughter has a master's degree in urban planning, and he learned a lot about planning from her books. DeLonais also reported that in the last five years he has only missed one meeting. DeLonais reported that he also serves on the City's Economic Development Committee as a representative of the Planning Commission. DeLonais reported that he is happy to serve in that position, which he volunteered to do so because no one else volunteered, and would be happy to continue to do so unless someone else desires the position.
