This community is expanding with leaps and bounds. Most homes
are single family dwellings, with several areas of townhomes and several
apartment complexes. Shoreview has many parks, both city and county.
Shoreview does not have an abundance of retail business, but houses several
large corporations and business districts. The newest added attractions to
Shoreview are the new city hall and community center which will have
recreational activities for all and the new Retail Target stores, opening in 1991.
Shoreview has four elementary schools within its city. The Ramsey County
Sheriff provides two 24 hour squads in the city.
Vadnais Heights previously was mostly rural and farm areas. With a
population of 9,749 and 5,192 acres, it's a growing community. Many new
single family homes are being built adding to the several townhome
complexes and trailer court. Vadnais Heights has few retail areas but does have
several industrial areas. Vadnais Heights is the home of one elementary
school. The city has one squad, 24 hours a day.
3
Page 18
