Gloria Favis
August 15, 1991
Page 2
Mr. McBride had indicated to me that in the future the homeowner
would possibly be reusing the precast concrete slabs for a garage
addition. In this regard a structural engineer would have to
evaluate the placement of the precast slabs and a total replacement
of the foundation for the structure to carry the precast slabs. I
mentioned to Mr. McBride that if this was the case, then at this
point the contractor and the owner would have to establish such
preconditions for future additions.
My recommendations are that the homeowner and contractor must comply
with the present day zoning codes and regulations and the Uniform
Building Code regulations including the State of Minnesota amendments
to the Uniform Building Code. Because of the delapidated state of
the structure, it is not habitable at this time. The owner must
resolve these matters within the next five working days by writing
his intentions to resolve these matters.
Sincerely,
John Palacio
Building Official
JP:bj
cc: City Administrator
Mayor and City Council
Tom Sweeney, City'Attorney
James H.
