Mr. Collova suggested that Mrs. Jcspersen and Mrs. Blesener be put in <br />the same job classification with a 50¢ salary differential set because <br />of Mrs. Jespersen's additional duties. Collova suggested that then an <br />across - the -board percentage could be given the employees next year. <br />Nardini again suggested 57. for the office staff. Fahey suggested that <br />if that is done, Mr. Glanzer and Mr. Chlebeck should also get a 57. <br />increase. <br />;lr. Chlebeck stated that he was comfortable with classifying Mrs. <br />Jespersen and Mrs. Blesener in the same job classification with a <br />50¢ salary differential. <br />Fahey stated chat now that the maintenance workers are in the ballpark <br />with regard to their salaries, there could be across -the -board percentages <br />in the Future. Mr. Blesener pointed out that Joe Steele would be <br />brought up to the same salary as Dan Drake next year. Future increases • <br />would be consistent with the market. <br />Mrs. Scalze pointed out that the Council has been trying to set the <br />salaries for employees at mean salaries in the salary survey book with <br />the exception of the Recreation Directors. Scalze stated that she would <br />like to know what the mean salaries are for recreation help. <br />Scalze pointed out that she did a survey in 1932 and the City's Recreation <br />Budget •pas half that. of other. cities. <br />Scalze stated chat she was agreeable to the 37.28 per hour for Mrs. Blesener <br />and 77.78 per hour for Mrs. Jespersen, but she wanted some information on <br />what other part -time recreation help was making. <br />Mr. Fahey stated that Mrs. Jespersen wanted a longevity step in salary. <br />Fahey stated that he informed her that this is not done in the marketplace. <br />Blesener stated that he felt that the employees were granted a basic 5% <br />raise and anything else was a step raise. <br />Fahey felt that the City needed some job descriptions to go by. Fahey <br />also pointed out that the City pays its Recreation Directors on an <br />hourly basis as well. <br />Scalze stated that the City is basing Ars. Jespersen and Mrs. Blesener's <br />salaries on that of a full -time position. <br />Mrs. Scalze determined from the salary survey that Arden Hills is paying <br />its Recreation Director 530,000 per year. Scalze pointed out that the <br />City is paying Mr. `torulan, Mr. Prudhone and :irs. Husak $14,500 per year <br />combined. Scalze stated that the City is getting by half price. <br />It was the concensus of the Council to sec :trs. Jespersen's salary at <br />S7.78 per hour, Mrs. Blesener's salary at $7.23 per hour and 'ors. <br />Freeman's salary increase would be 5 %.
