Joint Recreation Director Page 2 <br />JOB DUTIES (Continued): <br />i) Shall attend and particpate in regularly scheduled and <br />special staff meetings of both cities in order that all <br />staff members may be informed of the total activities of <br />the City. <br />(2) Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the activities of the <br />City of Hopkins Park Department: <br />a) Plans, lays out, assigns and supervises the work of <br />groups of workers engaged in the care and maintenance of <br />park lawns, shrubbery, park roads, shelter houses, <br />playground devices and other park properties and <br />recreational facilities. <br />b) Inspects work in progress and upon completion, directs <br />park construction projects; authorizes and assigns <br />specific jobs to be performed, directs the propagation, <br />planting and transplanting of trees, shrubs and flowers. <br />(3) Performs other duties as assigned: <br />a) Is familiar with and assists in the enforcement of the <br />City's Affirmative Action Program. <br />RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS: <br />(1) Is under the direct general supervision, for administrative <br />purposes, of the City of Minnetonka City Manager. <br />(2) Is under the direct technical supervision for recreational <br />programs and service of the applicable City Managers or their <br />designated representative. <br />(3) Is under the direct technical supervision of the Hopkins City <br />Manager for the operation and maintenance of the City of <br />Hopkins parks, and the Hopkins Community Center. <br />(4) Is the'Hopkins Staff Liaison to the Hopkins Park Board. <br />(5) Is the Hopkins and Minnetonka Staff Liaison to the Joint <br />Hopkins and Minnetonka Recreation Board. <br />(6) Has general and technical supervision over all personnel <br />assigned to and physically housed in the Joint Recreation <br />Department. <br />(7) Communicates with, to etablish and maintain a spirit of <br />cooperativeness, representatives of the following: <br />a) Citizens' groups, civic organizations. <br />b) Other City Departments and officials. <br />c) Adjunct cities. <br />d) Wayzata, Hopkins, Minnetonka School Districts. <br />Page 33 <br />
