Joint Recreation Director Page 2 JOB DUTIES (Continued): i) Shall attend and particpate in regularly scheduled and special staff meetings of both cities in order that all staff members may be informed of the total activities of the City. (2) Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the activities of the City of Hopkins Park Department: a) Plans, lays out, assigns and supervises the work of groups of workers engaged in the care and maintenance of park lawns, shrubbery, park roads, shelter houses, playground devices and other park properties and recreational facilities. b) Inspects work in progress and upon completion, directs park construction projects; authorizes and assigns specific jobs to be performed, directs the propagation, planting and transplanting of trees, shrubs and flowers. (3) Performs other duties as assigned: a) Is familiar with and assists in the enforcement of the City's Affirmative Action Program. RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS: (1) Is under the direct general supervision, for administrative purposes, of the City of Minnetonka City Manager. (2) Is under the direct technical supervision for recreational programs and service of the applicable City Managers or their designated representative. (3) Is under the direct technical supervision of the Hopkins City Manager for the operation and maintenance of the City of Hopkins parks, and the Hopkins Community Center. (4) Is the'Hopkins Staff Liaison to the Hopkins Park Board. (5) Is the Hopkins and Minnetonka Staff Liaison to the Joint Hopkins and Minnetonka Recreation Board. (6) Has general and technical supervision over all personnel assigned to and physically housed in the Joint Recreation Department. (7) Communicates with, to etablish and maintain a spirit of cooperativeness, representatives of the following: a) Citizens' groups, civic organizations. b) Other City Departments and officials. c) Adjunct cities. d) Wayzata, Hopkins, Minnetonka School Districts.
