MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
MARCH 14, 1991
right -of -way up to his property.
Joyce Sarne pointed out that Mr. and Mrs. Fasciana, who
live at the end of Jackson Street, are out -of -town.
Sarne requested that the matter be tabled until the
next meeting to allow the Fasciana's to comment on the
proposal.
Drabik agreed that the matter should be tabled so that
some of the questions of the Commission and residents
can be answered before the Commission makes a
recommendation. Drabik also pointed out that there is
a large piece of property at the corner of Jackson and
Little Canada Road. Drabik was concerned about the
development of this site and its effect on traffic in
the area. Drabik suggested that perhaps Mr. Welch's
property should be accessed through the industrial
park.
Welch stated that if the City wants only one access to
the area, he would prefer to see it from Jackson Street
rather than the industrial park. Welch reported that
there are concerns on the part of the business owners
with residential traffic through the industrial park.
Paradee pointed out that most of the residential
traffic in and out would be during the early morning
and evening hours, while the industrial traffic would
occur during normal business hours.
Welch stated that he had no objection with running the
road all the way through.
Paradee was concerned with truck traffic through the
existing residential area.
Keis did not feel truck traffic would be a problem
since it would be easier for the truck traffic to go to
Owasso Blvd., Country Drive and Rice Street.
DeLonais pointed out that if the road was run all the
way through, street signs could be put up prohibiting
truck traffic in the residential area.
Garske asked if fewer homes were feasible.
Welch replied that the project is borderline with the
number of homes proposed.
Haukland asked where utilities would come from pointing
out that she does not have sewer and water running by
her home. Haukland was concerned that she would have
to share in the cost of utilities being run for this
development.
Page 4
