AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LIQUOR AND BEER ORDINANCE <br />The City Council of the City of Little Canada ordains: <br />Section 1. <br />Chapter 701 of the Municipal Code of the City of Little <br />Canada is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />701. DEFINITIONS. <br />701.010. TERMS. For the purposes of this chapter the <br />following terms have the meanings given them: <br />(a) "Alcoholic Beverage" is any beverage containing more <br />than 1/2% alcohol by volume. <br />(b) "Club" is an incorporated organization organized under <br />the laws of the State for civic, fraternal, social or <br />business purposes, for intellectual improvement or for <br />the promotion of sports, or a congressionally <br />chartered veteran's organization, which: (1) has more <br />than 50 members; (2) has owned or rented a building <br />or space in a building for pore than one year that is <br />suitable and adequate for the accommodation of/its <br />members; (3) is directed by a board of direct°'ors, <br />executive committee, or other similar body chosen by <br />the members at a meeting held for that purpose. No <br />member, officer, agent or employee shall receive any <br />profit from the distribution of sale of beverage to <br />the members of the club, or their guests, beyond a <br />reasonable salary or wages fixed and voted each year <br />by the governing body. <br />(c) "Intoxicating Liquor" is ethyl alcohol, and any <br />distilled, fermented, spirituous, vinous, and malt <br />liquid of any kind potable as a beverage which <br />contains an alcohol content in excess of 3.2% there of <br />by weight or 4% by volume. <br />(d) "Nonintoxicating Malt Liquor" is malt liquor <br />containing not less than 1/2% alcohol by volume nor <br />more than 3.2% alcohol by weight. <br />(e) "Off- Sale" is the sale of liquor in original packages, <br />in retail stores, for consumption off or away from the <br />premises where sold. <br />(f) "On -Sale" is the sale of liquor by the glass for <br />consumption on the premises only. <br />-1- <br />Page 12 <br />
