MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MARCH 12, 1992 <br />O'Kane felt that the existence of the bingo hall at the <br />Market Place would help security. <br />DeLonais reported that he lives near the Market Place <br />and felt that the front of the building was dark and <br />non - inviting. <br />O'Kane reported that a relighting was recently done on <br />the front of the building. O'Kane stated that she <br />would love to see more improvements made, however, the <br />money is not there. O'Kane also reported that when the <br />relighting was done residents of Garden Terrace <br />complained that the lights were too bright. <br />Keis again pointed out that the City's ordinance only <br />allows one bingo hall. <br />O'Kane reported that the application before the <br />Commission is just in case the bingo hall license <br />becomes available. O'Kane reported that if the Market <br />Place receives CUP approval now, it would be have at <br />least that part of the process completed should the <br />bingo hall license become available. <br />Drabik asked about bus circulation. <br />The City Planner replied that the circulation on -site <br />would need to be increased to accommodate bus loading. <br />Internal alterations of the space would also need to be <br />addressed in a more detailed fashion. <br />DeLonais asked if space allocated to bingo in the <br />Market Place would be greater or less than at the <br />Little Canada Bingo Hall. <br />Tom Short reported that the space at the Little Canada <br />Bingo Hall is 15,600 square feet including office space <br />and bathrooms. <br />O'Kane pointed out that the Market Place is proposing <br />10,300 square feet excluding office space and <br />bathrooms. There is additional space available if <br />needed; however, the organizations which have discussed <br />this with the Market Place feel the proposal is <br />adequate. <br />Frank Graczyk, Fire Chief, pointed out that the City <br />ordinance states that only one bingo hall is allowed in <br />the City. Graczyk stated that he hoped it was the <br />City's intent to continue to allow only one bingo hall. <br />O'Kane reported that she was informed that the City <br />would allow only one bingo hall.
