MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 16, 1992
Morelan pointed out that the 20 foot drainage /utility
easement would still remain.
Fasciana felt that the trail width should be 6 feet so
that people do not confuse it for a continuation of the
roadway.
Cylkowski asked why this trail easement should be 6
feet in width if others are 8 feet. Cylkowski felt
there needed to be consistency.
Morelan replied that there is a diversity of trail
widths within the City, those widths ranging from 5 to
8 feet.
Cylkowski asked about maintenance of these areas,
reporting that the fencing along the trail connection
in his neighborhood was damaged during the winter.
Morelan suggested that Public Works will be out in the
Spring to repair these kinds of damages.
Fasciana reported that this past winter was the worst
year he could remember for plowing snow. Fasciana
pointed out that there was no frost in the ground,
therefore, plows did damage boulevard areas.
Cylkowski asked about plowing of trails during the
winter.
Morelan replied that not all trail areas were plowed,
only certain trails where interest had been expressed
by residents in keeping the trail open during the
winter.
Fitzgerald reported that he supported the
recommendation for the 10 foot trail easement down the
middle of the 20 foot drainage /utility easement, and
would support ea 6 foot width for the trail that is
eventually developed within the easement.
Morelan asked if anyone had discussed the moving of the
evergreen trees with Mr. Zietlow.
Sanders replied that this had not been discussed with
Zietlow. However, there are three evergreen trees in
the middle of the easement area. Sanders reported that
it was his feeling that these trees are still small
enough that they could be moved.
Zietlow reported that he planted the trees 8 or 9 years
ago
Page 3
Page 19
