Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
We received 51 applications for the maintenance worker for
the Public Works Department. Of those 51, 20 met the
minimum qualifications. I then took those 20 applicants
and graded them based on their experience that they related
to me through their applications and resumes. I added up
their scores and divided the scores by the 20 applicants to
get the average score. Anyone at that score or above was
called for an interview. Of the 20, 9 were selected for
interviews.
On Thursday, April 8, 1993, I began the oral interviews.
The questions asked related to basic knowledge and general
attitude. After each interview, the applicants were then
given a short, general - knowledge test on their ability to
drive a dump truck and also load the truck with a
skidsteer.
At this time, a decision has not yet been reached for final
recommendation for hiring as I an still awaiting reference
checks on the top three candidates. However, I will have a
recommendation for you by Wednesday's meeting.
DBH:kpv
Page 38
