Mayor & City Council
March 5, 1993
Page 2
charitable gambling proceeds.
Each member ranked items in order of importance as they saw
fit. We then compiled each individual ranking into
composite scores that resulted in the priority listing
shown below. The listing is as follows:
Rank Item Amount
1 Microfilming of City Records $1,000
2 Copy Machine for Historical Society 1,500
3 Utility Trailer for Public Works 1,500
4 Refurbishing of 741 (Fire Dept.) 8,000
5 Flammable Storage Cabinets for
Public Works 1,100
6 Portable Floor Hoist for
Public Works 4,000
7 Fire Department Uniforms 5,400
8 Update of City's Comprehensive Plan 6,000
9 City Center ID Sign 5,000
10 New Typewriter (Admin.) 600
11 New Cushman for Parks 10,000
12 Pioneer Park Parking Lot Expansion 19,487
13 Backhoe Attachment for Bobcat 10,000
Total: $73,587
Based on funds on -hand less amounts committed to previous
uses, it is estimated that approximately $31,146 was
available for immediate use. This would fund the first
eight items. It was also reported that we received $39,417
of 10% proceeds in 1992. Assuming the same amount would be
collected in 1993, we would have over $70,000 for
distribution. The group was cautioned that 1993 proceeds
may not approach 1992 amounts.
It would be my recommendation that the first eight items on
this listing be approved for purchase subject to staff
Page 47
