MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
MAY 13, 1993
The City Planner reported that Precision Tree was given
until sometime in June to surface the parking lot after
the asphalt plants opened.
Keis stated that he did not want to see the garage
changed at this point in time.
Malsam pointed out that the garage would be raised up
only a couple of feet and would allow for a vehicle to
be parked inside rather than out.
Franklin reported that the cost of raising the garage
would be about $2,000, and estimated that he needed to
add 3 to 5 courses of block to get the job done.
Malsam thought the City did not want to see outside
storage. Malsam commented that it was his
understanding that Precision Tree was limited to five
vehicles at their site, and reported that their parking
lot is full of vehicles.
Gagne stated that he would support the garage being
raised on the condition that there would be nothing
stored outside.
Keis suggested that the request for replacement of the
shed that Mr. Maisam may take not be allowed, and that
Mr. Franklin work out with Mr. Maisam whether or not
the shed is removed.
The City Planner pointed out that any future site
alterations would require an amendment to the PUD,
therefore, the Planner recommended that the Commission
act on the issues being discussed under the application
before them.
Malsam pointed out that the Franklin Drywall operation
will be clean, while the Precision Tree property is a
mess.
Schletty again pointed out that if the garage is
raised, there will be no outdoor storage on the site
and the property would be cleaner than it is now.
Franklin stated that he does not need the garage raised
and can leave his vehicle outside. Franklin reported
that he has a dump truck and a spray truck.
Malsam asked why the City gave Precision Tree outside
storage.
Keis pointed out that the trucks were to be parked
behind the building and screened and fenced from view.
Garkse's motion died for lack of a second.
Page 16
