Director, Girls Activities <br />PARKS AND RECREATION <br />PROGRAM EXPANSION PLAN <br />1993 THROUGH 1997 <br />1. Summer softball - Three different leagues (men's over 35, <br />women's over 23 and men's open). 23 teams total. Played <br />at Pioneer Park and Eli Field #1. <br />2. Winter co -rec volleyball league - Friday evenings at <br />Little Canada Elementary School. Registration was offered <br />this past season. Lack of registrations caused <br />cancellation of the program, but it will be considered <br />again for the coming season. <br />3. Winter co -rec open volleyball - This was initiated after <br />the proposed league failed to materialize. Friday <br />evenings at Little Canada School. <br />NON - ATHLETIC <br />1. Cam - corder operation - Ongoing program. Class consists of <br />two to three sessions held at City Hall. Several <br />individuals have taken this program, enabling them to use <br />city equipment to cover community events. <br />2. Senior exercise - Fifteen to twenty people meet on Monday, <br />Wednesday and Friday mornings, September through May, in <br />the old Fire Station basement. Video tapes are used for <br />instruction. <br />3. CPR classes - Co- sponsored by and held at the Fire <br />Department. One class held this past winter for people <br />thirteen years and older. We had nine participants. <br />4. Fifty -Five Alive - Three two day classes held at City Hall <br />in February, March and April. All classes were full and <br />two more are planned for September and October. <br />-1- <br />Page 83 <br />
