MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
August 12, 1993
CUP FOR
ACCESSORY
BUILDING
LARGER THAN
1,000 SQ.
FEET -
SCULLEY
asked if concrete curbing would be installed.
The Planner replied that curbing is required.
DeLonais pointed out that his property is lower than
the shopping center, therefore, curbing was necessary
to ensure that the run -off from the shopping center did
not flow into his property. DeLonais suggested that
the existing wood fence could be cut back six feet on
the west in order to provide more visibility to the
shopping center. DeLonais also pointed out that the
existing fire hydrant will have to be moved. DeLonais
asked that the shopping center be a good neighbor.
There was no one from the general public present
wishing to comment on this matter.
DeLonais asked if there would be additional parking
added on the south side of the Rainbow building.
Chazin replied that that area will remain grass.
DeLonais questioned the circulation of the site.
Chazin felt that the circulation plan was a safer one
than exists today.
Drabik recommended approval of the Conditional Use
Permit to amend a PUD to allow for the relocation of an
existing driveway at The Market Place Shopping Center
contingent upon the recommendations of the City Planner
as contained in his report dated August 6, 1993,
subject to approval by the City Engineer as well as MN
DOT, subject to location of the driveway 5 feet from
the existing wood fence adjacent to the DeLonais
property, subject to repair and lengthening of that
fence and subject to landscaping of the 5 foot area
between the fence and driveway.
Motion seconded by Garske.
Motion carried 6 - 0. DeLonais abstained.
Mr. John Sculley, 3000 LaBore Road, appeared before the
Commission requesting approval of a Conditional Use
Permit to allow construction of an accessory building
(garage) larger than 1,000 square feet in size.
